Nicole Williams

Nicole Williams, Stanly Regional’s director of marketing and service excellence, oversees communications for the Albemarle hospital and its affiliate organizations.  For the past 15 years, she’s enjoyed sharing the news and accolades from Stanly Regional to help promote health and wellness among the communities it serves through articles, advertising, websites, seminars and community involvement.  In addition, she encourages staff to provide excellent customer service to enhance every patient’s satisfaction with services provided throughout the organization.  Nicole holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a native of Stanly County.

Angela Charles

Angie Charles, a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator, assists patients with weight loss prior to surgery with the Healthy Directions and Diabetes Programs held at Stanly Regional Medical Center. In addition, she also teaches workshops for our patients before and after their surgery. She also teaches Diabetes and Diabetes Prevention classes, to help educate patients, their loved ones and members of the community about Diabetes. Angie has a master’s degree in human nutrition from Winthrop University and has been working at Stanly Regional for five years and has a passion for health and wellness.

Felicia Amick, a Registered Nurse and Certified Diabetes Educator, assist patients with diabetes and pre diabetes in achieving their personal health goals through programs like Healthy Directions, a Diabetes Prevention and Weight Management Program, and Stanly Regional Medical Center’s Diabetes Self Management Program. She graduated from Cabarrus College of Health Sciences in Concord and has been with Stanly Regional Medical Center for 10 years.  She has worked as a Diabetes Educator since 2005.  Felicia gets great pleasure in being a part of each patient’s journey toward better health.

Bonnie Winecoff is a community health educator for Stanly Regional Hospital. She has a doctorate in Education Leadership and is an American College of Sports Medicine, Health and Fitness Specialist. She also holds a current NC Class A teacher’s license. She is the coordinator of Passport to Fitness, a healthy lifestyle program for all students in the Stanly County School System K-5. Ask your children what they are doing in Passport at school.

Jennifer Williams is a Registered Dietitian and the newest member of the Stanly Regional Disease Management team. She is working towards obtaining her Certified Diabetes Educator credential. Jennifer is assisting with teaching the Healthy Directions and Diabetes Program classes as well as providing medical nutrition therapy for patients with diabetes or pre-diabetes in need of meal planning, weight loss, insulin pump therapy, etc. Jennifer has her master’s degree in Human Nutrition from Winthrop University and was born and raised in Charlotte, NC.

Vicki Moore is a Registered Dietitian and the one of the newest member of the Stanly Regional Disease Management/Health Promotions team. Vicki is the Coordinator of the ENERGIZE! Program, a child and adolescent diabetes prevention and weight management program, and also assists with providing medical nutrition therapy for patients with diabetes or pre-diabetes in need of meal planning, weight loss, insulin pump therapy, etc. She is working towards obtaining her Certified Diabetes Educator credential Vicki has a Bachelors of Science degree in Marketing from Rutgers University, and a degree in Human Nutrition from Winthrop University. Vicki was born and raised in Orange, NJ, and has lived in Charlotte, NC since 2005.

Stanly Surgical Weight Loss Center

Meet the members of the Stanly Surgical Weight Loss Center:

Dr. Eric Mallico is our medical director and board-certified general surgeon. He performs both Gastric Banding and Sleeve Gastrectomy and he provides comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care. Dr. Mallico frequently speaks at our support group meetings.

Patti Shoe, nurse practitioner, provides patients with pre-operative medical evaluations as well as post-op exams and she is the coordinator of the bariatric program. Patti also leads support group meetings.

Scott Brone serves as the Director of Rehabilitation Services and Sports Medicine for Stanly Regional Medical Center and assists our patients with exercise plans before and after surgery.

Christy Cunha provides psychological evaluations required prior to surgery. She also is available for individual consultation after surgery and she participates in our support group meetings.

Jennifer Williams works with patients at Stanly Surgical Weight Loss Center before and after surgery to ensure that their nutritional needs are being met. She also participates in our support group sessions.

Ashlee Valenti, Medical Assistant, participates in all aspects of care at Stanly Surgical Weight Loss Center. In addition to assisting Dr. Mallico and Patti Shoe in the office, Ashlee communicates with insurance companies, pharmacies and hospital representatives.

Debbie Medlin is the Patient Services Representative at Stanly Surgical Weight Loss Center. She will assist you in your registration process and help obtain health insurance authorization from your provider prior to bariatric surgery.
